A group of friends playing great songs:

John Gration has a story to tell and you can hear it in his music. With musical tastes from Robert Johnson to Elgar and everything in between he writes in a diversity of styles but all the songs have John's signature and when he plays guitar and sings, naturally it sounds just like…John Gration.

Michael Rorby, a really top class trombonist with beautiful phrasing. A regular player at the North Sea Jazz Festival and also leading his own kwartet, Michael brings colour and power to the horn section arrangements and plays beautifully tastefull solos.

Huub Habets adds some accompaniment on the keyboards and kicks in on trumpet in the horn section. His real trump though is his solos, no standard Miles licks for Huub, which explains why he has toured with various bands round Europe, North and South America.

Arjan Schinkel has been with John since the start of the band and so knows instinctively what John has in mind. As half of the rhythm section Arjan plays melodic bass lines on one of his lovely Hagström electric basses or his new love, a full size upright bass.

Patrick de Bree is the other half of the rhythm section. He likes to find the groove in a number but loves taking a solo to show his chops too. He'll be using his Cajon in the sets too but Patrick has a harmonic ear too having studied piano and vibes also.

Vereisten

We can fit on a stage normally suited to a 5 piece band, though we prefer a bit of space if possible. We also prefer to use our own excellent Bose PAS sound system (3 or 4 elements) which is suitable for outdoors or indoors, can handle up to 400 listeners
