Born into a musical family, Joao Driessen launched his studies on Violin and Piano at an early age. Inspired by such musicians as Michael Brecker and John Coltrane, Joao took up the Saxophone. Fall of 2003, Joao moved to amsterdam to study at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. More recently Joao Has been working with (among others) NLMundo, LaPalmas, Felix Schlarrman Group, Marcos Baggiani Quartet.
Joao's Saxophone work Includes a variety of styles, ranging from Pop, to Flamenco, Jazz and Freely Improvised Music. Among his more commercial work, His solos can be heard in the film, Erik en Het Insecten Boek, and on Arme Ziel (Wim Soutaer).
