Biografie

De band Nes 'n Jazz is ontstaan rondom de zangeres Agnes 'Nes' Loonstra die samenspeelt met Frank Wolff (jazzgitaar), Robin de Zeeuw (Contrabas) en Ferdi Schaap (drums). De muzikanten studeren allemaal op het conservatorium van Utrecht.

Nes ’n Jazz is een frisse, eigenzinnige, vernieuwende en bovenal enthousiaste, jonge jazzband met een herkenbaar eigen geluid. Dit komt doordat zij, in plaats van alleen de overbekende Jazzstandards van vroegere tijden te spelen, vooral op zoek zijn naar ‘de nieuwe Jazzstandards’ van deze tijd. Zo spelen zij stukken van bekende singer/songwriters als Joni Mitchell, Neil Young en Bjork. Maar nooit zonder hun eigen jazzy kijk er op te geven! Benieuwd? The band Nes ‘n Jazz was created around the jazzsinger Agnes ‘Nes’ Loonstra who plays with Frank Wolff (guitar), Robin the Zeeuw (Double Bass) and Ferdi Schaap (Drums). The musicians all study on the Dutch conservatory in Utrecht.

Nes ‘n Jazz is a refreshing, inventive, innovative but above al enthousiastic, young jazzband with it’s own recognizable sound. This is because they are, in stead of playing the too familiar songs from the fifties, searching for ‘the new jazz standards’ of these times. As such they play songs of famous singer/songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bjork etc. But never without arranging the pieces with their own jazzy sound and turn it into a whole new listening sensation!
